ISO 14001:2026 — the transition that is already funded

Do not print a specific day. Sources disagree on whether the deadline falls on 15 or 30 April 2029. Write “April 2029” until the IAF resolution confirms it.
What actually changed
This is a genuine gap assessment, not a paperwork update:
- Scope widened past climate into biodiversity, pollution and natural resources.
- Clauses 6.1.1 to 6.1.5 restructured.
- New clause 6.3 on management of change — the addition most organisations have no existing process for.
- “Outsourced processes” broadened to “externally provided processes, products and services.”
Why it is selling now
Unlike ISO 9001:2026, this one has already published. The work is being scoped and funded right now, which makes the auditor-capacity argument genuine rather than manufactured — a finite pool of environmental auditors against 676,232 certificates on a fixed deadline.
The strongest pitch available in August 2026 is the integrated one.
An organisation running 9001 + 14001 + 45001 faces three transitions inside roughly thirty-six months. Almost nobody is packaging that, because 45001 is still only at DIS.
